These are not film reviews in the usual sense. I am not making recommendations for viewing, or covering what is showing now. This is discussion of films that are interesting, perhaps because of how they were crafted, or perhaps because of what they are about. A film might be of little interest as an example of film art, yet still be culturally interesting as an indicator of current attitudes, or those of a past cultural moment. Or it may raise some issue in an especially vivid way.
